Thailand

Hello my pumpkins!

Earlier this year in April I was lucky enough to take a trip to Thailand with my parents to visit my brother who lives there! Going there was a very different experience for me as I has never been to an Asian country before. Yes, I have traveled to many places in the world but this is usually well off countries and I go to the touristy areas that are well developed. However, in some areas of Thailand, especially where my brother lives (north of Thailand) it is almost like a second world country.

I was also lucky enough to experience a lot of the culture over there as I took part in one of their big festivals of water, Songkran. This is one of the main Buddhist festivals and splashing objects (mostly Buddhas) and other people is a way of blessing them. On the three main days there are also a lot of traditions that are done at temples.

Spending two weeks there opened my eyes to see just how beautiful it is. The temples (there was almost one around every corner), the markets, buildings and mountains. The people I met were also very friendly and welcoming and did their best to help me and my family feel at home. Below are some pictures I took during my stay.

Another temple

The white temple

You guess it...another temple!

A view of somewhere..

The golden triangle (where three country borders meet)

There was a van coming that I was trying to splash. trust me!

Yes that elephant is ACTUALLY painting!

Yes that is me getting harassed by an elephant.....

In the future, if you get an opportunity to travel abroad for any reason I suggest you take it with open arms! Travelling gives you a chance to see what its like in other countries and the chance to explore the wonderful world. I hope that when I am older I will be able to travel to even more places as this is something I love to do!

Adios! x
